How to Become a Futsal Referee in North Carolina

- "So you, or someone you know, would like to become a certified Futsal Referee?"


Please be aware that this registration is for the game of FUTSAL, which is an indoor played version of soccer. Completing this registration will NOT allow you to referee the standard version of Soccer which is played outdoors.

Before you begin, please be aware that there are some requirements for all Entry Level Referees...


The person registering:

must be at least 14 years old (or will be within 90 days or less)

This is a North Carolina Labor Law

must have a valid email address which only they will use.

This email cannot be shared with another individual

must have a valid Debit or VISA/MasterCard Credit Card with an expiration date and CID # (the security number on the back of the card)

It is recommended that prepaid cards are NOT used to pay the registration fee of $60.00

must have Social Security Number

This number is required for background checks and payments

must submit to a Criminal Background History Check

This is ran for only persons 18 years old and above

Steps to become a Futsal Referee:

1) Registration and Payment

If you are not a North Carolina Referee, you will need to first use the link below to activate your account. After activating your acount, follow the instructions below.

Reactivate/Activate an NC Arbitersports Account


Current NC Referee's can become Futsal Referee's without having to activate their Account.

2021 Futsal Regstration


2) Complete the US Soccer Online Training Modules which can be found in the Arbiter under clinics

There are NO In Person Clinic requirements.

Once you have completed all of your requirements you will receive an Eligiblity Icon on your profile. You will then be able to work Futsal games the remaining months of 2020 and all of 2021. There will also be optional in person training sessions which will cover Futsal mechanics. These will be posted at a later date.

In the fall of 2021, you will need to recertify to referee Futsal in 2022.
